AI-Driven E-Commerce Store

A full-featured online store for a gadgets and consumer electronics brand — built with an AI recommendation engine at its core. The platform personalises every shopper's experience in real time: surfacing the right products, bundles, and offers based on browsing behaviour, purchase history, and live inventory data. The result is a store that sells smarter, not just louder.

AI-Driven E-Commerce Store
AI-Driven E-Commerce Store — Detail
The Challenge

A store that looked good but converted poorly.

The client had a functional Shopify store generating moderate revenue, but their conversion rate was stuck below 1.4% and average order value hadn't grown in two years. Traffic was healthy — the problem was the experience. Every visitor saw the same homepage, the same product ordering, the same cross-sells regardless of what they'd browsed, bought, or shown interest in before.

Off-the-shelf recommendation plugins weren't cutting it — they surfaced "also bought" lists based on simple correlations, not behavioural intelligence. The client needed a custom-built store with a real AI layer: one that learned individual shopper preferences, adapted the product catalogue dynamically, and made every visit feel like it was curated specifically for that person.

They also needed the store to handle a rapidly growing SKU catalogue, flash sale events, and a loyalty programme — all without slowing down the browsing experience on mobile.

Our Approach

From generic storefront to intelligent commerce.

01

Data Audit & Funnel Analysis

We analysed 18 months of Shopify data, heatmaps, and session recordings to pinpoint exactly where shoppers were dropping off and why — before writing a single line of code.

02

Custom Store Architecture

We rebuilt the storefront from the ground up with a headless architecture — giving us full control over performance, personalisation logic, and the AI integration layer.

03

AI Recommendation Engine

Our team built a behavioural recommendation model trained on purchase history, browse patterns, and product affinity — updating in real time as users interact with the store.

04

Performance & Launch

Load time optimised to under 1.2s on mobile. Launched with A/B testing across the key conversion points, iterating weekly on homepage layouts, PDP layouts, and checkout flow.

Words from the
people we built it for.

Within two months of launching the new store our conversion rate had more than doubled. The AI recommendations feel genuinely useful — not just random upsells. Customers are buying more because the store is actually showing them things they want.
